SNEAKER EDITION: CONVERSE ALL STAR REMIX COLLECTION

You know Converse is doing something right when they maintain the same classic style aesthetic for how long now and still manage to be an iconic sneaker! Now, they've updated their classic silhouette with mesh like upper & pebbled toe cap for a contemporary sleek style in various colors.
My personal pick is the all over black with red shoe laces (not seen here) sold at Champs online

WHAT I WORE: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Aside from a bathing suit, that was the extent of my fashion in the Dominican Republic, especially when you're just hanging out in an all inclusive hotel!  And like any Caribbean Va-cay, bikini shots are in order!  However, it wasn't really about the bikini, it was about the long sarong.  All I could think about was how Tyra Banks says when you model, you also need to model the garment.  So here it goes...

CELEBRITY TREND REPORT: AMY WINEHOUSE

Like many fallen stars, Amy Winehouse's talent was one in a million.  Her love for the 60's carried out effortlessly in her music as well as style.  Her signature beehive influenced fashion when she began her career and will once again effect fashion as she sings in her next life.  Coincidentally, the mannequins for Forever 21 Back-To-School season display a modern bee-hive with measuring tape replacing the "bandanna", and ironically, the picture on the top right is me with my hair twisted up in a tie bandanna the morning Amy Winehouse died.  I was on vacation in the Dominican Republic & did not know about her death.  Amy Winehouse, thank you for leaving us with pieces of you that will stay with us forever.

SNAPPIN' IN THE STREET

I've always felt bad for men that have to wear the 3 piece suit in the summer heat, especially when there's no door to door service.  Their shirts are usually dripping wet before they even get to the office & some have said they usually have another on hand for a change when they get there.  This look shows how you can still be professional while keeping it cool.  Thank you for getting Snapped4Style!

WHAT THEY WORE: ROOFTOP PARTY IN SOHO

For some a rooftop party would mean casual shorts, flip-flops, kickin' back a few mojitos.  In Manhattan, a rooftop party calls for Ciroc & a rooftop outfit! These ladies channeled their inner Carrie Bradshaw, their inner Beyonce and put together the perfect ensemble for the occasion.  Thank you ladies for getting Snapped4Style!

WHAT I WORE: FRIDAY NIGHT WEST VILLAGE

The beauty about hanging out on the Lower East Side or The West Village is that you can dress down.  Here's what I wore for a night at Fat Black Pussy Cat, a lounge bar in West Village that I can't get enough of thanks to their amazing band and hanging out with fun friends.  I incorporated a lot of 90's influence with lace biker pants and wearing one dangling earring & a stud in the other.

SNEAKER EDITION: NIKE TOKI HI-TOP

UPDATE : Remember You Heard It Here First!  Complex Magazine Voted Nike Toki the "Kicks of the Day" on July 29, 2011.  Snapped4Style reported 2 weeks before!  http://www.complex.com/sneakers/2011/07/kicks-of-the-day-nike-toki-canvas-varsity-royalwhite
PhotobucketNike does it again! They really live up to their motto "Just Do It" don't they.  In some way they remind me of Madonna....never goes out of style and re-invents themselves keeping it fresh and new.  Now, the urban style sneaker has transitioned itself into the hipster, alternative, skater genre.  "Nike Polka Dot Toki Hi-Top Sneaker, a Chukka-inspired sneaker (VANS) from Nike with padded nylon uppers topped with allover polka dots.  Complete with tonal laces, enameled grommets and oversized Swoosh logos on both sides.  Finished with a cushioned footbed and textured rubber sole..but if skateboards are not your thing, your feet can still hop into these wicked kicks!  Brrrrrillliiiant simply brilliant!

CELEBRITY TREND REPORT: BASKETBALL WIVES

I'm so obsessed with the big bling on Basketball Wives that I'm starting to think I should dedicate a blog just to them. As the drama continues to magnify on each episode so do their earrings! If you've been keeping up with my previous Basketball Wives trend reports, those butterfly earrings are part of Evelyn Lozada's own line sold online at "Dulce".

How about those pave encrusted hoops with spikes that Jennifer Williams wore Season 3, Episode 6 known as "Goddess Spiked Hoops". That has a nice ring to it..pun intended!

So where does Evelyn, Jennifer, and the rest of the cast get those major hoops from ? ilovepoparazzi, that's who! http://ilovepoparazzi.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=55

TREND REPORT: PRE FALL SHOES WOMEN

Yup, it's already time to talk about "Fall", but hopefully you're enjoying every bit of Summer!  This Fall we're going to see a lot of ankle straps from flats to heels.  There's also a big trend in what you could pretty much say is hiking boots in heels! The concealed wedge & platform soles are still going strong, and if you love to dress up ...ankle booties are here to stay and always add that finishing touch!

TREND REPORT: RUSTIQUE

RUST gets it's moment to shine...now that's an oxymoron! But hey it's an "ox"idized red so it sort of goes! Snapped4Style first reported this color trend back in April.
http://snapped4style.blogspot.com/2011/04/2011-nickelodeon-kids-choice-awards.html
However, leave it to Rachel Zoe to bring this color front and center, spotted May 19th, in L.A wearing her own Rachel Zoe Collection "Lauren Military Jacket".  This copper tone is also featured in ALLOY's pre-Fall catalog.  Fresh enough for Spring and great for Fall.  I love how this color stands alone.

TREND REPORT: UGGS

When I see these boots, I can't help but sing "The fun starts, don't stop till you get enough" by Micheal Jackson...I'm not a fan of UGGS, but it was actually these sparkly suckers that drew me into a new shoe boutique that just opened in Washington Heights. More info on that store in the future b/c they still didn't have an awning up.  However, these UGGS are already available online.

TREND REPORT: PRETTY LITTLE THINGS

Everyday ideas keep comin' as to what I'd like to blog about.  Every now and then I will feature "Pretty Little Things", inspired by the ABC Family show "Pretty Little Liars".  I love everything Lucy Hale's character Aria wears.  On Season 2, Episode 4 "Blind Dates", Aria sports a mossy green baseball jacket proving that the referee stripes and varsity jacket trend is still continuing.  However, I like the interesting mix of the traditional 1950's bandanna wrapped around her head in a modern day "Rockabilly" Hairstyle.  It's like Lucille Ball, meets Chicana, meets prepster.  Great Back To School look!
